The Cost of Time
If we add up energy and work, what is the cost of time? This question is difficult to answer because it depends on your work and your time.
In our modern society, time is money, and money is a form of energy. You work for someone in exchange for money or an hourly wage.
The Time of Your Life
You think you understand time, but it's strangely difficult.
You and I have a timeline from birth to this moment now. You have learned how to live with time through your experience of living.
You experience time and living as something that happens to you. It takes time to walk to the bus stop, and it takes time to make dinner.
Time seems to move even when you don't do anything. How do you experience time?
You have more than five senses because you can sense time. Many people say that they don't need an alarm clock to wake up because they wake up automatically.
Things like clocks don’t experience time. You experience time with your beating heart and your curious and active mind.
You dream about adventures and romantic relationships. You imagine winning the lottery and traveling to exotic locations.
You can sense time, but you allow time to govern your life and then feel powerless to govern your time. Does time control your life?
Time Is Relative, And It's Related To You
A clock doesn’t measure time the way you do. A clock doesn’t even measure time; a clock just keeps ticking without regard for anything.
I know it’s difficult to explain, but when you wake up to see the sunrise, do you think that the Earth just made another rotation around its axis?
You don't think that the sun is visible because the earth is spinning.
During your life, you don’t realize that you move with the motion of Mother Earth. You sense time with your heart and your emotions.
You think that time has physical powers because your experience of living on our planet’s motion makes you feel that time is personal.
You have memories of experiences and dreams of your past. You dream of experiencing your memories again.
When your beating heart stops, your time ends. Friends and family will remember your lifetime by the events you lived and measure it by the number of years.
But you don’t age because of time. Your life ends when your heart stops from the physical and emotional stress of living.
Ask yourself what is more real, your beating heart or time?
The energy in the universe causes things to move, and we use clocks to measure the motion that we experience.
The motion of your heart should tell you that the power of your heart beating is real, and the measurement of your beating heart is just a number.
The energy of life keeps you alive and takes away your life. Time is a measurement of things that move, but time is not the motion of your heart.
Time is your way of keeping track of your events. You are fooled if you believe that time is a real thing that causes things to happen.
You are the one in charge of your actions and thoughts.
Work and Energy
In March 2021, the Suez Canal was blocked by a container ship for six days. The cost of holding up the traffic is about 6.7 million dollars per minute.
It took all the engineering of physics to fix the situation as fast as possible.
Do you think it was a cost of time or a cost of energy? It seems that the cost was both time and money.
You can say that the Suez Canal shipping lane uses energy to move ships, and the ships carry expensive cargo per day or second.
Now think about all the motion that moves daily, using energy, and costing money.
Energy is the ability to do work, and time is used to measure the cost. But what is the definition of time?
In this example, time is money, and for you, time governs your life.
Consider that time is a movement of motion.
The Earth spins around each day, and we have converted that motion into time. A second is a fraction of the motion of Earth.
The ships are moving in the canal, and each second they move during the motion of Earth. The energy of motion is converted into time and time into money.
The real power of everything is in the motion, the movement, and the action.
We use clocks to measure the motion, and we convert the motion into time and money.
Your Lifetime
You sense that your life is related to time, but you have been thinking about time the wrong way.
You base your time on a clock and a calendar. Time is the most valuable possession we think we have, but time isn't something we own.
You and I make plans for the future, but we have no way of knowing what will happen in the future. How you use the amount of time you have is what matters.
Consider that it's time to know what's real and not real to make the most of your life.
Can You Trust Your Mind About Time
Clocks show you a number to tell you the time of day.
You convert that number in your mind to meaningful personal information.
Is it time to go to school, is it time for lunch, etcetera? Many people say that they don’t need an alarm clock.
Their mind must sense the internal system of their body. Their beating heart and the need to empty their bladder are like an internal clock.
Your heart beats, and you can feel the motion of your pulse. Your mind converts your breath and pulse to say that time is flowing or moving.
But you are being fooled by your mind. You assume that time is equivalent to the motion you feel and see.
Motion isn’t time. The truth is that time is the measurement of motion.
The motion of things is real, your heart beating is real, and the measurement of how fast things move (motion) is the time.
Your mind is letting you think that time moves and makes things happen.
But it’s the motion of your heart and the motion in the world that moves. Time is only the measurement of that motion.
Don't Let Time Cost You
I hope I showed you that time isn't real.
Your mind thinks that time is a physical thing that governs your life. Don't let time cost you or control your life.
Time is what a clock shows. Use your skill to work and play without thinking that time is telling you what to do.
The actions you take and the things that you do are what matters.
You can measure what you do with a clock's time, but actions govern your outcome.
A good rule to follow is "Just Do It." Don't let the thought of time stop you. As they say, "It's never too late to start."
