Einstein became famous one hundred years ago because of the 1919 total solar eclipse. In 1970, I studied physics at a university, but Einstein's relativity wasn't mentioned or taught. He was the only person in human history to use mind experiments to show that time is relative to the observer’s frame of reference.
Scientists at the time didn’t believe in the postulates of Special Relativity. In 1988, Stephen Hawking wrote a book, A Brief History of Time, glorifying Einstein as a god with a new vision of time.
Millions of people read his amazing book, and Einstein became an icon and a genius who changed the universal laws of nature. Admittedly, Einstein was already world-famous for predicting that starlight bends around the Sun.
Humans are social creatures who tend to follow a leader instead of trusting their authentic selves. Human culture can idolize movie stars and turn famous people into heroes like they do with Donald Trump. Arguably, he's the world's most famous person.
We fail to understand that we are all equal and capable of amazing things. Has Trump created anything amazing? Humans will follow any person or belief as long as they think their tribe is with them. They don’t question things or use critical thinking to decide what’s real and what’s not.
Let's answer the question: Is time relative or absolute?
We need to think beyond Einstein’s theory because he didn't explain time except to say that clocks measure time and sticks measure distance. However, clocks keep track of time, but time is a concept, so it can not be measured by clocks or anything else.
Clocks and time are separate things. Again… Time can't be measured, since only the “now” moment exists. Wait, did I explain about time?…
The Definition of Time
Time doesn’t cause events or make things happen. Time comes from the motion of our planet. Our planet's daily rotation and yearly orbit around the sun define time for us. The motion we experience is reality, and the time we experience comes from clocks that tick at the speed of Earth's rotation.
However, the movement of the universe and the frequency of atoms happen simultaneously everywhere, but time doesn’t cause change or movement. Time is an invention of necessity to keep track of the days and years.
Clocks keep track of our daily lives and the movements we experience. Clocks show the time, but they don't make time. Time is the duration of a clock’s ticking. Time doesn’t cause our planet to move or the sunlight to travel. We use clocks to measure the movement we experience.
However, clocks are tools that often fail to keep accurate time due to the environment's temperature or the force of gravity. Time dilation happens to clocks but not to time…
Therefore, clocks are relative to physics, but the actual age of the universe is absolute. The universe is expanding at the speed of light, and this movement is happening everywhere at the same rate. That means time is absolute, and the duration on a clock is a measurement of motion.
We need to realize that clocks do not measure time. Clocks measure the duration of motion, and we translate the numbers a clock shows into the time. Clocks display numbers and numbers are concepts, and time, as well, is a concept.
However, clocks and time are separate things. We cannot live our lives without knowing the time, but we must differentiate between clocks, the concept of time, and reality. So, time is not relative except in Einstein’s mind experiments and in minds that have too much time to contemplate time.
Mind Experiments are Amazing
Einstein's mind experiments explain physical activity from various frames of reference. This mental activity plays an important role in discovering new science.
However, scientists must use their thoughts to reach a level of reality through observation. Einstein didn't go to that level. Instead, he turned imaginary thinking into mathematics to show that the mind can manipulate time in physical events.
Einstein's theory of relativity states that time is relative. He thought clocks and time were the same thing, but clocks are relative, and time is absolute!
However, “time” is relative only in mind experiments because time, as we know it, doesn't exist outside of clocks. Moreover, imaginary clocks do not show the correct time in imaginary experiments. Clocks are accurate only on Earth.
Humans have been taught to believe the universe operates according to the rate at which a clock ticks. Consider this, we can not measure the accurate speed of particles in space using clocks on Earth unless we compensate for the clock's time dilation in that environment.
In addition, the relativity of time only exists in mind experiments and geometry. Time is a number, not a force or a reality. If you use a clock’s time dilation to alter physical activity, you are in the realm of science fiction.
Einstein's theory has been proven thousands of times because scientists agree that clocks measure time and therefore, believe that clocks and time are the same thing. Have they been manipulated by the same math Einstein imagined?
Where does fantasyland end and reality start? Do not believe anything in this blog article without using your discernment, and when you think about it, you should join my tribe of critical thinkers.
I'm grateful to my followers and dreamers. The world needs more critical thinkers, and if you think about it, everyone can do that. FYI, I spend thousands of dollars on my website and several hours daily writing my newsletters and books. Yet I don't monetize my website or sell anything except my books. We should seek knowledge instead of ways to get rich. I have a small pension that's sufficient for the things we need.
Thank you for reading my weekly newsletter. Namaste
