Finally, the Truth About Global Warming

Classical physics fails to explain how electrons and molecules interact with electromagnetic energy. Quantum physics paved the way for the development of quantum mechanics, which describes the universe at the smallest scales.

To explain the quantum mechanics of global warming, we need to understand the basic science of light. Sunlight is our source of energy, providing us with heat and light. The physics of light is a complicated theory that I will include in my book.

This article utilizes the principles of quantum physics, which can be challenging to comprehend. We often get caught up in language, searching for the right words to describe infrared light as a form of photon radiation. The basics are easy to understand once you realize that a light source emits infrared photons, which molecules absorb, and transfer to other molecules by conduction.

Key Points in Quantum Physics of Photons and Molecules

1. Infrared light isn't light; it's infrared heat containing infrared photons.

2. The infrared photons transfer heat from the sun to warm the Earth. Sunlight contains 50% infrared photons and 49% visible photons.

3. Visible light is invisible, yet it allows us to see.

4. Electrons emit “electronic photons” when illuminated by the frequency of “white” light. This process lets us see the world.

5. The first Law of Thermodynamics states that energy conservation is a fundamental principle. Energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be transformed from one form to another.

6. Electrons and molecules in matter have the same frequency. A molecule's mass absorbs infrared photons and transfers heat by conduction to other molecules.

7. Combustion produces infrared heat, visible light, and CO2. The infrared heat is absorbed by the surrounding air molecules and transferred through conduction to other molecules, similar to a radiator heating your house.

My sketch shows the process of sunlight reacting with CO2 and transferring heat to nitrogen.

Experiments Show That Carbon Dioxide Traps Heat

Greenhouse images abound on the internet, showing sunlight entering the Earth. However, sunlight contains infrared photons.

Classical science experiments demonstrate that carbon dioxide traps infrared heat, but there’s a flaw in the experiments. They use a container with carbon dioxide gas and a container of air. A source of infrared heat shines on the containers, and the temperature of the gases are measured. The result shows that the carbon dioxide container gets much hotter. What is the flaw with these experiments?

These experiments demonstrate that carbon dioxide molecules absorb infrared heat, while oxygen and nitrogen remain cooler. This fact has been the strongest argument that CO2 gas causes global warming. It seems that CO2 traps heat, but without a medium to transfer the heat, the temperature of both gas containers remains high.

CO2 molecules don't emit infrared photons as assumed. Instead, they absorb infrared photons and transfer heat by conduction to other molecules, but they can't when trapped inside a container.

Experiencing the Effects of Solar Warming

We experience a similar situation sitting in a car on a sunny day. Sunlight contains approximately 50% infrared photons, and when they enter the vehicle, they heat the interior items. The molecules in objects then transfer heat to the inside air, but the hot air molecules cannot travel through the windows. The interior becomes hot like a sauna.

However, if you enter your car later in the day, the heat has dissipated by conduction with the molecules in the glass and other items. This process also happens on Earth, when radiative cooling transfers heat to air molecules and into the atmosphere.

A greenhouse works by the same principles. Sunlight is a mixture of visible light and infrared heat that enters through the glass walls and ceiling. The interior items become hot and transfer heat to the surrounding air molecules, but the hot air cannot move through the glass.  However, the atmosphere on Earth doesn't prevent heat from leaving. The idea that CO2 traps heat only happens in a container.

Additionally, although CO2 molecules retain heat, they don't emit infrared radiation back to Earth, as heat transfer occurs primarily through conduction or kinetic energy. The greenhouse gas emissions theory is another example of “what you see isn't always what it seems.” Appearances are often deceptive.

Heat, Temperature, and Energy in Global Warming

Light is quantum energy in action. The carbon dioxide molecule has 16 electrons, which have the same frequency as the molecule. The CO2 molecules absorb infrared and visible solar photons. Infrared photons interact with the molecule, while visible photons interact with the electrons. The visible photon gives us vision, and the infrared photon gives us heat.

Molecules transfer heat through conduction, convection, or kinetic energy. Heat and temperature are different things. Temperature is a property of matter, and heat is the flow of energy from an object at a higher temperature to an object at a lower temperature.

For example, water molecules have a temperature (kinetic energy) ranging from 0 °C to 100 °C. Each “visible” photon emitted by the electrons in water and received by our eyes has a frequency corresponding to that of a H2O molecule, allowing our vision to see it as water. However, heat conduction from the water molecules depends on the temperature.

While visible light allows us to perceive the water, it does not involve heat. An object's temperature depends on the kinetic energy of its molecules, and adding more heat from an external source raises the temperature.

A Black Body transfers heat by conduction to the surrounding molecules. So, a solid, liquid, or gas medium must be available to transfer an object's heat. Heat is transferred even in the dark, hence the fitting term Black Body radiation.

CO2 molecules capture infrared photons from the sun, heating the atmosphere. At night, they help to transfer heat back to space. It’s unknown what happens if there is a greater amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Some claim that CO2, as a greenhouse gas, is already saturated and that adding more makes little difference.

New research shows that greenhouse gases are not the cause of global warming. The reason is a greater population density and increased combustion, especially at night when the planet is cooling. The mechanism that maintains our climate is a complex process. We need to understand how the atmosphere balances the incoming and outgoing heat.

The Main Reason The Greenhouse Theory is Incorrect

Science is vague about the mechanism of infrared light. Incoming infrared solar radiation heats molecules, warming the atmosphere and the Earth. However, molecules can not emit the same infrared radiation to other molecules. The electrons in molecules emit visible light, which enables us to see.

Molecules transfer heat through conduction, convection, and kinetic energy, so CO2 molecules play a relatively minor role in global warming. Additionally, transferring heat from matter to the atmosphere requires a medium, and CO2, at only 0.04% of the atmosphere, cannot accomplish this task.

In conclusion, all air molecules transfer heat by conduction, warming the atmosphere during the day and cooling it at night. It’s time to remove the gas from Global Warming. CO2 isn't the cause of Global Warming.  CO2 is a product of combustion, and combustion is the cause of heat.
